How do I install Rate-Anly?
Answer
: The
CD contains complete Software in a folder with
name Rate Analysis. Run the SETUP.exe
program from this folder to start Installation
program. Follow the instructions displayed. Refer
the Installation Chapter of Reference Manual for
more information.
The
other folder is DAOINSTALL, which contains the
installation program for MS-ACCESS DAO Jet Engine,
which is used for storing data in MS-ACCESS format.
You will have to install this Jet Engine, using
SETUP.exe program from DISK1 subfolder, if you
come across the message "DAO JET Engine Not
Initialized".
IN-FQ-02.
How
do I connect parallel port lock?
Answer:
Rate-Anly
Software will run only if the Parallel Port lock
supplied along with is connected to your computer.
The Lock has a marking on one end as  COMPUTER
.
This end shall be attached at backside of your
computer, on Parallel Port, normally where printer
cable is connected. Lock can be connected only
in one direction.
Switch
OFF the computer first. If you have connected
a printer cable to your computer remove it and
connect the COMPUTER end of the
lock to the computer. The lock should easily slip.
If it does not, then turn lock upside down and
try again. Connect printer cable at the other
end of the lock. Switch ON the computer. If you
don't have any printer cable connected to your
computer, then connect only the lock as described
above.
IN-FQ-03.
How
do I install MS-Access DAO / Jet Engine?
Answer: Rate-Anly stores the data files
in Microsoft Access/ Office'97 format. Microsoft
Access module of Office'97/ Office2000 must be
installed on your computer. While installing MS-Office
2000 it asks 'Whether you want the backward compatibility
for MS-Access datafiles'. When this option is
asked for it is to be selected as Yes.
Microsoft
Access stores the Dao/Jet engine files in folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Dao.
If this folder is absent or Dao is not compatible
with Rate-Anly you need to install MS Access
DAO / Jet Engine.
Rate-Anly
CD contains a folder with name DaoInstall, which
contains the installation program for the DAO/ Jet
db Engine. If any one of the above messages appear
on the screen then run the SETUP program
from the Disk1 subfolder of the DaoInstall folder
and follow the instructions displayed by the Installation
program. This will install the Dao/jet engine
properly on your computer.

How
do I install driver for Windows 2000 / XP machine?
Answer
: DrvInstall.exe
program is provided alongwith to install the drivers
required make Rate Analysis run
on computers with Windows 2000 / XP machine. To
run this program start Windows Explorer and go
to the folder where Rate-Analysis Software is
installed. By default the program is installed
in C:\Program Files\Ensoft RateAnalysis\Bin
folder. From the list of program files displayed,
double click on file DrvInstall.exe.
The Sentry driver Installation dialogue box will
appear on the screen. Now click on the Install
button. 'Successfully Installed Sentrymsp.vxd'
message will then appear on the Screen.
Installation
of Rate Analysis is now complete.
RateAnly.exe
is
the main program for Rate Analysis of Construction
Items.
IN-FQ-05.
How do I run the software?
Answer :From
Start button of Window'95/'98,
- Select
Programs menu and choose Ensoft
Rate Analysis option. This will display
a submenu.
- Select
Readme.Txt option first for
reading the information regarding the software.
- Select
Rate-Anly for running the software.
- Select
Online Manual option for getting
the Online Help for the software
- Select
Utilities' option to uninstall
the Rate-Anly program from
your hard disk.Only the software program files
are removed. The data files created by you will
not be deleted.
You
can also start Rate-Anly using
Windows Explorer. Go to the folder where program
is installed. Click on Rate-Anly folder.
From the list of program files displayed, double
click on the file RateAnly.exe. The title Screen
of Rate-Anly is displayed for few
moments and then Program Menu appears
on the screen as shown.
These
programs can be run by using Short-cuts
available on Desktop or START
button.
IN-FQ-06.What
are settings required for Windows 7 OR VISTA O.S?
Answer
: SETTINGS ALTERNATIVE 1:
From
START button Go to Setting
> Control Panel
Select Security Center > Other
Setting option
User account control to be turn OFF.
SETTINGS ALTERNATIVE 2:
From
START button Go to Setting
> CONTROL PANEL > User
account >
turn user account control off>
Uncheck checkbox for "use account
control to protect Computer"
Shut Down & Restart Vista O.S.
Start Running the Program.
