 FAQ ANSWERS :::

EP-FQ-01. How do I change the beam, slab or column numbers serially with retaining existing Data ?
Answer : When Make Data command is given in Input Plan . the program will ask "What to retain existing Beam and Slab Data ? Yes/No" If "No" option is selected here then Beam and Slab Data is regenerated from scratch. If "Yes" option is selected , then the existing Data is retained and newly added beams and slabs are numbered with prefixes such as a ,b,c etc. To number these beams serially, select ReNumber Beams/Slabs option from Modify RCC Menu of Edit Plan Data.

EP-FQ-02. How can I assign small column size at the roof level and bigger size at lower levels?
Answer : The size of a column given in Edit Plan Data at each floor is the Minimum size used by the program during design. The design starts at the roof levels. If this size is insufficient for design requirement, then Program will increase the size of the column or calculate the steel accordingly. This size is taken as the minimum size at the lower level, and design proceeds in the similar way for other levels below. Hence, if the minimum size is assigned at the roof level column sizes at the other levels are designed appropriately.

EP-FQ-03. Does Column Flush position have any effect in Analysis and Design of the structure?
Answer : Column Flush position does not have any effect in the Analysis of the structure. All the beam ends are assumed to meet at the column node( Node at which column is placed in Input Plan) and not at the column centre, except in case of shear Walls. Column flush positions are used while preparing the working drawings of RCC , Architectural and Centerline plans. The clear length of the Beam changes according to the column flush position. This will have some effect in calculating Beam Flange width during Beam design. Beams Concrete Quantities and Beam reinforcement lengths depend on clear length of the Beam (member). Hence column flush positions may have some effect during the Estimation also.

EP-FQ-04. How do I change the Floor name for particular floor?
Answer : Select Modify Floor option from the Project Menu. select desired floor from the list of Floors displayed and click on Modify. Change the Floor Name and click on Ok. Changed Floor Name will be appeared.

EP-FQ-05. Even after Beams are sunken,the Slab load is distributed on Beams.How? Or Why there is no change in Loading Diagram for particular Beam even after it is made sunken?
Answer : When Beam sunk option is given, the beam is made hinged at both ends. This will change the Loading Diagram for that Beams.

EP-FQ-06. How do I enter a Column which is inclined(nonorthogonal) in the Plan?
Answer : To enter a column which is non-orthogonal in Plan, first mark the Column as usual in Input Plan. The go to Edit Plan Data. Select Edit --> Column Data--> Column Edit option.Edit a Single Column dialogue box will appear. Select the Column which is to be entered as inclined Column. Enter desired Inclination Angle(Inc. Angle). Then click on Change. The inclined Column will appear on screen. Save the File and Close it.

EP-FQ-07. How can I specify the Flush position for Column which is inclined in the Plan?
Answer : For the columns inclined in the Plan, select Edit --> Column Data--> Column Edit option from Edit Plan Data menu. Select the Column for which Flush Position is to be specified and select Flush Position as N. Now Program will ask X and Y offset values of the Column Center with respect to the Node at which the Column is marked. Enter desired Offset values and click on Change. Then Save the File and Close. Now the changed Flush Position can be seen in the RCC Plan Drawing also.
